Today I’m going to share my perspective on BongaCams.com. This is important because normally reviews are written from the consumers’ perspective, not the model. So, you’ll finally get an idea of what a model likes and dislikes about this site. Definitely read this before diving into Bongacams.
My Official BongaCams Review
BongaCams is currently the live cam site with the highest amount of global traffic. They are ranked within the top 90 sites with the most amount of traffic globally but are most popular in Spain.
Below I rate them in several different categories, giving them a score in each category out of 10. Out of 60 possible points, I gave them 53/60, with an average score of 8.83.
They don’t have a lot of extra features that some other cam sites offer, so they lost some points there. And even though they definitely have the traffic, the amount of money that most models make is not that great.
Features 8/10:
One nice feature, especially for international models, is the site is in multiple languages. Since the majority of the traffic comes from Spain, BongaCams now gives you the option to view the site in English or Spanish.
Most models do their shows in free chat. They set a goal amount that they want to reach and then do the show once they hit their goal. But there are other chat options you can take advantage of.
Private chat costs 30/tokens a minute. It’s between you and one other person, but people can also spy on these shows. Every member spying pays 7 tokens/minute.
They can only watch the show, not hear you or chat with you. Someone can take you into a Full Private Chat, which costs 45 tokens/minute. These shows can not be spied on.
There is also a Group Chat feature if multiple users want to take you private. Everyone watching the show pays 15 tokens/minute.
Every week, BongaCams holds a contest for the top 100 models.
First place gets $1000, second place gets $500, third place gets $300, 4th-15th place gets $100, 16th-30th place gets $50, 31st-50th place gets $25, and 51st-100th place gets $15.
BongaCams protects its models by providing free DMCA takedowns. If you find your content that was originally from BongaCams on another site, you can contact support and let them know the link to the content. They will work to have it taken down for you.
Profits & Traffic 7/10:
As far as traffic goes, BongaCams get a perfect score. But traffic doesn’t always equal profit. Many models complain that the vast majority of the people in their room are on guest accounts and free accounts.
Guest accounts are people visiting the site who didn’t even bother to create a free account. Free accounts have actually made an account on the site, but have not purchased any tokens yet and are just there watching shows for free.
They cannot tip you since they don’t have any tokens on the site. I’ve seen a lot of models also say that the guys who do have a good amount of tokens are very frugal with them.
They’ll tip maybe a token or two every once in a while and demand that you do things in return. But with this said, plenty of models do succeed on the site and make a lot of money.
Ease Of Using & Navigating The Site 9/10:
Since I didn’t have any experience with BongaCams before this review, I created both a model and a member account to test out the site.
I found it easy to navigate from both ends. Since I only made a free account, I found the countless pop-up ads incredibly annoying.
Not sure if they still have ads for paying members, but I would certainly hope not. It made the site come across as very spammy.
From the models’ end, the site is set up in a way that makes it easy to use and navigate. I was quickly able to find all of the important information and set up my profile.
Payments & Cashouts 10/10:
Payouts occur weekly on BongaCams, with payments made every Friday for the previous week’s earnings.
The minimum amount required for a payout is $50 for models and $100 for studios. If you’re a model in the United States, you can get paid via check in the mail, direct deposit, wire transfer, Payoneer, Paxum, or WebMoney.
Check by mail and direct deposits are not available to international models. There is no fee associated with cashing out via mailed check, direct deposit, Payoneer, or Paxum.
A wire transfer has a $35 fee and a $535 minimum payout. WebMoney has a 3% processing fee.
Privacy Protection & Geo-Blocking 9/10:
BongaCams lets you block as many countries, states, and cities as you want. When other sites offer regional blocking, they usually let you select the places you want to block by showing you a dropdown box with all of your different options.
The BongaCams platform lets you type any region in yourself. I’m a bit skeptical of this method, especially when it comes to cities.
But they claim it works and says that if a user from that specific region tries to access your profile or cam shows, they’ll be shown an error message.
Privacy protection is fantastic, as with all major cam sites. They will never leak any of your personal information to fans or third parties.
Customer Service & Support 10/10:
The customer service and support team are available to models 24/7. You can contact them via email, phone, or through their live chat support service.
The staff is knowledgeable and will help you with any issues you may be having. If you’re new to camming, they also have some guides in their model FAQ section.
Conclusion
BongaCams is the number one cam site as far as global traffic goes. I feel that the site is better suited for international models rather than models in the United States. Personally, I’m not a fan of BongaCams. The site comes across as spammy.
I guess it’s working though, at least internationally. But it’s not a site I would ever want to cam on. Members are constantly being prompted to purchase tokens, along with other pop-ups throughout the site. When browsing model reviews of the site, most were negative.
