There are many different types of adult conventions happening all around the world. Some of these conventions are live while others are held online. Most have awards ceremonies but others are simply community gatherings. These are some of the best adult conventions that anyone can check out.

Porn Conventions

Porn conventions are held for both the people who make porn and the people who watch it. It’s a great place to see all of the biggest porn stars in real life. There are awards for the best creators at most of them, but not all. The most popular one is Adult Con.

This is held three times a year in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and features both exotic dancers and performers. A one-day ticket costs $40 and comes with a $5 casino chip. The AVN Expo is a four-day convention where men and women can meet their favorite porn stars and get their autographs.

The Exxxotica is held in Chicago and women are able to get in for free on Fridays. Finally, the XBiz Convention brings industry leaders to one place for marketing and technology talks. There’s also a lingerie party and other fun things to do.

Webcam Conventions

Webcam conventions usually happen as a mix of in-person conventions and virtual visitors. One of the biggest is BCams. It’s held in Romania and invites cam models, webcam sites, and anyone who loves cams. It also has two awards ceremonies.

The first gives awards to cam models while the second gives them to studios. The Lal Expo is sponsored by LiveJasmin and other cam sites. There are over 600 models from all over the world and it mixes fun events as well as industry talks. It can be attended in person as well as virtually.

Fetish Conventions

There are also a few different conventions that focus on fetish and kink. Fetish Con is the biggest one in the world. It encompasses all fetishes and focuses on offering information about healthy fetish lifestyles. West Coast Bound is held in Vancouver.

They have presenters, education, and a dungeon party. It’s also possible to buy t-shirts and hoodies. Finally, there’s Bound Con. This is the biggest adult convention in Europe. They have over 100 different exhibitors from all around the world. There are also custom photo shoots from different studios for people to take advantage of.

Hentai Conventions

There is one large Hentai convention. It happens every spring and takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. It takes kink and cosplay and brings them both together with lots and lots of people from everywhere you can imagine.

They have lots of parties and they never have a problem with the convention goers getting totally naked at the event. It’s also one of the best places to see homemade costumes that don’t leave much to the imagination. There are several different ticket options available. Each one if going to have a different duration and the prices range from $20 all the way to $130.

Trade Shows

Finally, there are trade shows that focus on the business side of adult entertainment. One of the biggest is the ANME Founders Show. This happens in Los Angeles every January and brings in American and Canadian sex toy manufacturers to present their products.

The ETO Show is the biggest trade show in the United Kingdom. It takes place in Coventry, and they have an award show as well as presenters. The Altitude Show takes place in Las Vegas and comes around semi-annually. Manufacturers are able to show off their lingerie, sex toys, and other adult products.

Conclusion: Attend At Least One Show A Year As A Model!

If you’re serious about building your brand as a cam girl then you need to attend conventions and shows at least once a year. It will help, I promise, and can guarantee that! One other thing that you might want to consider doing (and don’t tell anyone about this trick) but you might want to join a few hookup sites too. Nothing Is Free On Webcam

Now, I know what you’re thinking, and I’ve heard it a thousand times before. “The best things in life are free.” In real life? Maybe. (although I’m going to come in with a strong #debatable). In Cam life? NOTHING IS FREE.

Let’s just get all of the silly questions out of the way now, so we can delve into the truth of the subject.

“What about smiles?” … While it’s true that smiles may not be paid for with cash, tokens, or gold (Although it might work if you DO charge for it) they are most certainly paid for with your soul that will inevitably be sucked out piece by excruciating piece from dealing with the gigantic F*$% Boys that you have to deal with on a daily basis. (“Ass BB… Show tits BB. Show me a preview and then Private BB)… but I digress.

“If I tease for free then maybe they will pay for it!” Nope. No. NOOOOO. Don’t fall into this trap, beauties. There is so much out there for you, and money is at the head of the pack. Would you ask a clothing store to give you a free shirt so you could test it out before you buy it?

How about asking a restaurant if you could try a small version of their entrée dish for free? Pretty sure they would laugh in your face and walk away. At least, that’s what I would do.

In fact, it IS what I do anytime some entitled jerk comes into my cam room and tries to get the milk for free. Repeat after me, ladies and gents. “NO, the cow is NOT for sale and the milk is NEVER free.”

Luxury Service

The fact of the matter is that you are providing a luxury service. The keyword to remember there is LUXURY. If you are out of their price range then you are also out of their league. (Awe..can’t afford a show? Better start saving up to give yourself a nice big birthday gift!)

Here’s what you do. Sit down, write out a list of what you know you will get asked for, and then price out what you’re comfortable charging for each individual thing. Don’t second guess yourself!! If you want to charge high, charge high!

This ain’t Walmart, and you don’t need to roll back your prices. The way I see it, it’s better to start your prices higher and lower them if you need, rather than setting the bar low and having to explain to people why your prices are being raised.

Twerk? $15

Blocking them when they continue to try and get it for free? Priceless.

You get the idea. Don’t sell yourself short! If you have people trying to get things for free then you either convert them into a paying customers or you cut the gigantic, pathetic freeloading cord that is their life. (#ByeFelicia)

So here comes the other side of things. Some people that you’re going to encounter like to sip on that haterade that is their miserable existence and call it juice.

These people will be climbin’ in your windows, snatchin’ that free pussy up, so ya’ll better hide your girls, hide your sin-caves and hide your emotions cause they monetarily rapin’ er’body up in here.

Can Be Dumb & Annoying

If you haven’t already figured it out, these people are idiots.

They aren’t worth your time, and more often than not they are either trying to get you to lose your cool, or they are honestly ignorant enough to believe that you would show them something for free… and for what? Because they think they deserve it?

Girl, please. You control your room and if you give away the goose, you give away the gander. (The goose being YOU and the gander in this case being the control)

Let’s face it…

This is a job that comes with the vulnerability of exposing parts of yourself that most people would never dream of exposing, let alone have the courage to show even their closest of friends.

There is a risk involved, there is the knowledge that everything you do while the cam is turned on has the possibility of being posted on the internet ANYWHERE and being seen by literally ANYONE.

(If you don’t think this is the case, you are severely naive, and I recommend you research some more about what career choice you’re making before deciding on anything.)

Taking all of these things into consideration, I think we can all agree that we have the right, NAY, the duty to charge for any and all of the services and products that we provide.

We all know what high school was like. I don’t know about you, but I hated high school. Absolutely loathed it. I remember thinking on more than one occasion that I couldn’t wait until it was over because adults always seemed to have it together. They had it so easy not having to deal with the petty drama. Little did I know, they were just better at hiding it from us kids because boy, was I in for a surprise when the drama never really went away.

Granted, we aren’t in a high school classroom forced to see whoever the bane of our existence was day after day. But it seems as though by the time we enter the real world, the drama is so ingrained within some of us that it’s impossible to let it go. Thus creates….. (dun dun dun) The Catty Camgirl.

When I first started camming I had no idea that it was as much of a community as it actually is. I remember always thinking about how these girls all seemed to know each other and I was on the outside looking in. Once I started getting more ingrained in the everyday hustle and bustle of camming I saw it in a whole new light.

There will be cliques. OH, will there ever be cliques! The top girls of cam sites can be very competitive, and as a result, there can be some nasty things that get said. It’s up to you whether or not you engage or decide to ignore it.

Ignore The Haters

Personally, I like to ignore all the haters. Instead, I use it to measure my success. In my mind, the more haters that I have the more successful than I.

I don’t have time to engage in petty arguments or respond to the trolls on social media. I just ignore them, brush my shoulder off, give them the good ol’ two-finger salute and carry on my merry way of being a master of the universe. But even though I decide to ignore it, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.

Success Breeds Bashers

Look, the fact of the matter is this. If you are doing well on your cam site, and by that I mean you’re killing it with the hours, you’re slaying it with the regulars, you’re going HAM on some goals… then you’re inevitably going to collect a group of camgirls that would rather spend their time bashing you then working on their own craft.

This doesn’t reflect on you as much as it reflects on how shitty they are. You will have models come into your rooms and troll you, if you’re on a private-based site, they may try to take you to exclusive for 5 seconds. (This, by the way, is so they don’t get charged and your room gets cleared out.)

Some of the more *cough* vocal *cough* ones will take their ridiculous, obnoxious rants to Twitter because you know… somehow bashing another model in front of your fans will create a solid, loyal fanbase. (Gag me, please.) Not in a kinky way either.

Here To Stay

I hate to say it, but the truth of the matter is that there is never going to be a way to get rid of these types of girls. They exist in the world. They are the mediocre cam-girl that allow us to shine. So what do you do? Do you let them disrespect you and completely f*$% with your workflow? (How about NO, Scott.) There are some things that you can do to alleviate the annoying.

Make Them Ask

If you’re on a private-based site and models are trolling and clearing out your room by taking your private, start having the guys ASK you before. If someone tries to take me without asking first, it throws up a major red flag.

If they haven’t even said Hi to me why would they want to spend $10/min on an exclusive session? What if I don’t do what they offer? What if they think my voice is annoying?

If they can’t ask, then I assume they are a model trying to clear out my room and mess with my vibe….and you better believe, I will decline every single show if they aren’t respectful of my rules in that matter.

Send A Message – Literally

If the harassment gets too extreme, you can always send in a message to the cam site that you’re on. I wish I could say that this had a 100% success rate, but the sad truth of the matter is that it doesn’t. Sometimes the haters are favorites and they get away with murder.

So, to each their own with what you want to do at that point, but my advice is to be the bigger person and just do you, boo-boo. Trust and believe that nothing is going to get to the catty camgirl as much as you are not engaging. If you don’t react, then it’s not going to give them the satisfaction that they are looking for.

Conclusion: The Catty Will Be Catty

Hell, while they will be busy spending so much time trying to get a rise out of you, stalking your cam room, and giving you free promo by mentioning you on social media, you can be out there like Ri-Ri.

Sometimes all it takes is thinking differently about a business. That’s why today I’m covering what you need to know if you’re in the cam industry today. Looking at the business through another lens can help improve your earnings and experience – overall. I’ll cover how to think differently when it comes to camming today.

Look At The Webcam Business Through A Different Lens

Famous words to live by (literally) and they were said by none other than Apple’s own late Steve Jobs. He knew what he was talking about, obviously. Although he was speaking in terms of computers, it really is a great motto to live every aspect of your life by.

Forget The Competition

Stop looking at competition and thinking of how you can do things better than them. Think about how you can do things differently.

For example, you watch another cam girl’s room. You say to yourself “Man, she is really awesome at the hard sell.” She’s constantly pushing for a sale, like a used car salesman that never gives up and never lets you leave without signing on the dotted line.

Now, you try and copy what she’s doing down to a T and you may be successful, hell, you may even be better… but let’s think for a second about how we could do things differently instead. How about mixing soft sells with hard sells? Mixing the art of the hard sell and using it with a subtle sell delivery.

Stop Trying To Copy

When it comes down to it, there is nothing that you can do that will ever be exactly the same as what another person does. That’s why you can always tell the difference between an original and a copy. Sure, they might be almost identical but they never quite match up. Why would anyone want to be a copy of something else anyway?

The Bad Eggs

Let’s take the example of affiliates for big-box cam sites like Streamate.com. A lot of models do not like white labels because there are a few bad eggs that unfortunately give a bad name to the whole bunch.

The models complain about them recording their shows, posting them on tube sites, tweeting out their pics without tagging them, associating them with not-so-good studios, the list goes on and on. Constantly there is something going on in this realm.

There is always a model who is trying to get their shows taken down off of an affiliate site only to get the run around by said affiliate.

Brand Use

The models are upset because their brand is being used and they aren’t getting any type of credit for it, and if they point it out, then they are talked to like they aren’t worth a damn.

It can be a pretty nasty system. So here’s where the “Think different, not better” comes in. Instead of thinking about how affiliates should do things better (which we all know will not be changing any time soon.) We should be thinking about how we can do things differently. Imagine if 10 models created white labels, and then also created affiliate programs for said white label.

Then each model signed up for the other affiliate program and traded promo content for each other. All of a sudden, instead of having the affiliates steal your content and not give you credit… you as the model are taking control, and all of the models are making each other money by using the model’s affiliate link when they use their brand to promote their white label. Still with me?

This Doesn’t Help

It doesn’t get rid of the problem, but if you can’t get out of it, then you might as well get into it. This would put much more industry control in the hands of the models, as well as provide a supportive community for everyone to come together and constantly make each other money.

Next thing you know, the affiliates that aren’t models don’t have the same type of access to the promo materials (because models aren’t creating it voluntarily for them, like they are for the models they are signed up as affiliates with) and so who starts to be the big breadwinners? The Models.

Snapchat…

Another example is Snapchat. Models started out on Snapchat with either just a public Snapchat or a private Snapchat. Then after debating on how to do it better, most models created two separate accounts, one for the public and one for the premium. This is all well and good and serves its purpose, however, it’s a lot of work to run two separate accounts. So instead of doing things better, how about we do them a little differently?

Create ONE Snapchat account and run your private and your premium from the same account. (You can do this by going to your settings and changing who can view your story from Public to CUSTOM.

Even after you switch back to public view, the snaps posted on your storyline during the custom setting will only be viewable by those who were on the approved list.) Voila! A way to do things differently.

Conclusion

Are you picking up what I’m laying down yet? Obviously, the examples above are just that…examples. You can mix and match and try different things out to see what works for you and what doesn’t.

But the truth of the matter is that until we stop trying to be cookie-cutter versions who compete with each other using the same type of style and hustle, we won’t be living up to our maximum potential.

So I urge you, I implore you to start doing yourself a favor and when you are getting ready to log on to your cam room, or film a new video, or start a new project… that you take a second and start to think different, not better.

If you’re a camgirl, then you probably know about white labels already, and like most other models in the business have a deep-rooted, intense hatred for the affiliates of white labels and everything that comes along with it.

Of course by saying “everything that comes along with it” I mean the horrible affiliates that are usually behind the scenes of the white labels, screenshotting your pics, recording your shows to upload onto tube sites, and being a general pain in the ass when you decide that you want them to take down your videos. (DMCA’S BITCHES!)

I know, and I agree with the fact that some of the affiliates that are the ones running these white labels are complete jerks who have no idea what it’s like to be on the other side of the industry. (Side note: This isn’t always the case. It’s one of those, the few bad apples make it harder on the rest of them) All they care about is the bottom line and making money, which is understandable. However, my motto in life is “If you can’t get out of something, get into it” and that applies here just as much as any other place.

White Labels Bring Us Consumers

White Labels are a part of the camming industry. It makes sense. The cam companies are, in essence, paying affiliates to bring traffic to the site by giving them a percentage of all the sales that they bring in.

There are white label opportunities for almost every major cam site, and there is no reason to limit yourself to only one, but just for the sake of streamlining this article, we’re going to focus on Cambuilder.com, which is Streamate’s Whitelabel program. Post Registration

After the signup, it’s a relatively painless process. You, of course, need to purchase a domain name for your white label. This can be whatever you wish for it to be, but keeping it simple and easy to remember is going to be your best bet.

After you have the domain name purchased, it’s time to set up your white label. On Cambuilder.com it gives you easy-to-use templates that let you customize the look and feel of your site. It literally “click and point” easy. You can upload your own logos, change the color theme, change the size and the look of the model’s icons, etc.

Promote Yourself & Other Cam Girls

After that first step, the next step is going to be promoting your white label. A lot of models that I know only use their domain when they are getting online. While that works wonderfully, I feel like it is a missed opportunity. The second that I got a white label, I reached out to other models who either had one themselves or models on the site asking them if they would be okay with me promoting them…I haven’t had a single one say no yet.

Conclusion: Just Start One

This brings me to my major point. IF YOU ARE A CAM MODEL THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE A WHITE LABEL. Look, nothing is going to change overnight. There are always going to be some bad apple affiliates running the white labels that bring us the shitty traffic, treat us like dirt and give every other affiliate out there a bad name.

But if you can’t get out of it, get into it. If you don’t like something, then be part of the change. Think about how different it would be if models all created white labels and traded promotional material.

Not only are you supporting each other in the industry, but all of a sudden you have so much more promo available to you versus the affiliates that only have your shows they recorded, and have models breathing down their neck to take them down.

Add on top of that fact that, as a model, you have much more incentive to give people for signing up. “Sign up, spend $5 and get a free vid!” Kind of deals, that will start having checks show up in your mailbox without you ever getting on cam.
